BULLARD - The White Oak Roughnecks scored on their first three possessions in the first quarter, added another TD in the second quarter and never looked back en route to a 35-14 win over Bullard on Friday.

The 'Necks took the opening kickoff and drove 66 yards in 12 plays. Riley Lakin ran the final three yards for the touchdown. The PAT kick by Jack Rogers, his first of four in the first half, was true and White Oak was in the driver's seat.

The 'Necks' defense held Bullard to four and out and got the ball back on their 36. With only about 90 seconds elapsed since their first touchdown, the crowd saw an old-fashion razzle dazzle play. Quarterback Dylan Gale passed to Gabe Michael in the backfield. Michael then pulled up short and tossed a touchdown pass to Jansen McCurdy.

McCurdy caught Michael's pass on the Bullard 30 and streaked into the end zone to finish a 64-yard scoring play that made it 14-0.

The kickoff to Bullard ended on their 32-yard line. A bad snap, a penalty and a relentless Roughneck defense back the up their own ten. An attempted punt never got off and the 'Necks got the ball on downs at the Bullard one yard line.

Gale sneaked into the end zone with 5:50 remaining in the first quarter, Rogers again kicked true and the score was 21-0 at the end of the first quarter.

The Roughnecks later drove from their 23 to the Bullard with the help of a 22-yard pass from Gale to McCurdy and another of 15 yards. The drive stalled on the 32. Three Gale passes fell incomplete.

The Roughnecks held the Panther offense to another three-and-out series and took over on their 36. Lakin ran for four, then 35 yards. A 10-yard pass from Gale to McCurdy was good for 10 yards and then Lakin covered the final 15 yards for the score. Rogers again kicked the PAT and it was 28-0 at the half.

With 3:36 remaining in the third quarter, the Panthers scored on a nine-play, 68-yard drive. Quarterback Connor Mebane took the ball in from the three and Zack Aldridge kicked the PAT.

The third quarter ended with White Oak up 28-7.

On the first possession of the fourth quarter lightning struck in the form of Riley Lakin. After moving from their 33 to their 45, Lakin ran a slant to the right side and ended just one yard shy of the end zone. Gale took the ball the final yard for the touchdown. Rogers kicked his fifth perfect PAT of the evening and White Oak was up 35-7.

Lakin was the top runner for the game, gaining 120 yards on 13 carries with two touch downs.

White Oak (2-0) will host rival Spring Hill on Friday.
