ET Boys Basketball: Kilgore remains undefeated in district; Tatum tops White Oak, more

<strong>KILGORE 67, GLADEWATER 41:</strong> KILGORE - Stefun Tatum led a balanced Kilgore scoring attack with 14 points, and the Bulldogs used a big first half to notch a 67-41 win over Gladewater in District 16-3A play.

Trey Conrod added 13 points, six rebounds and four assists for Kilgore, which outscored the Bears 18-7 in the first quarter and led 37-16 at halftime.

Clery Delmus had 11 points and Nick Orange finished with seven points, four rebounds and four assists.

Kilgore moves to 18-7 overall and 8-0 in the district with the win.

<strong>TATUM 54, WHITE OAK 43:</strong> WHITE OAK – Chaston Brooks dropped 20 points as No. 2 Tatum kept its perfect run through District 17-2A intact with a 54-43 win over White Oak on Friday.

Donovan Centers added a 11-point, 10-rebound double-double in the win for the Eagles, who improve to 25-4 overall and 11-0 in district action.

Tatum held a slim three-point lead after the first quarter before outscoring the Roughnecks (10-6, 6-4) in the second quarter to take control.

Martin Williams and Klifton Willis added six points each. Willis pulled down a team-high nine rebounds for Tatum.

Hayden Nichols added a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds in the loss for White Oak. Cass Carr finished with 13 points.

Tatum travels to Jefferson on Tuesday.

<strong>WASKOM 65, JEFFERSON 62:</strong> JEFFERSON – Kevin Johnson had a game-winning putback as time expired to lift Waskom to a 65-64 comeback win over Jefferson in 17-2A action.

Jefferson built a 38-28 lead at halftime before Waskom rallied in the second half, outscoring the Bulldogs, 37-26, for the win.

JuneBug Johnson led the way for Waskom with 15 points followed by 13 from Kevin Johnson and Eric Stephens III. Kaleb Haynes rounded out four Wildcats in double digits with 10.

Devin Hodge put up a game-high 23 points in the loss for Jefferson. LeTaurus Gaderson added 21 points.

<strong>JEFFERSON 61, NEW DIANA 32:</strong> JEFFERSON – KJ Jeffery led New Diana with 10 points and five Eagles finished with at least three points in a 61-32 loss to Jefferson.

DQ Hollins, JQ Shaw and Jake Coulter finished with four points for New Diana, who host Union Grove on Tuesday.

<strong>UNION GROVE 63, ORE CITY 59:</strong> ORE CITY - Tristan Thompson led four Lions into double figures with 19 points, and Union Grove outscored Ore City 7-3 in overtime in a 63-59 District 17-2A victory.

Tyler Owens had 13 points, seven reboundsand five steals, Hunter Gray 11 points, nine rebounds and three steals and Garrett Gibson 10 points, 12 rebounds, three assists and four steals for the Lions.

Tyler Carter scored 18 points and 18 rebounds, Steven Lewis added 18 points and 13 rebounds and Nick Hughes finished with 10 rebounds in the loss for Ore City. Josiah Campbell added nine rebounds.

<strong>SABINE 70, HARMONY 61:</strong> HARMONY - Ivan Padron scored 22 points, collected nine steals and sank all six of his free throw attempts to lead the Sabine Cardinals to a 70-61 District 18-2A win over Harmony.

O'Shean Jagot had 16 points, Cody Sauce nine points and six steals and Tanner Sharp 14 points and five assists. Sharp drilled four three-pointers in the first half for the Cardinals (15-10, 8-3).

Bentley Miner and Austin Spurlock scored 23 points apiece in the loss for Harmony (3-18, 1-10). Miner had 15 rebounds, Spurlock hit six three-pointers and Levi Thompson had seven points, 20 rebounds and four blocks for the Eagles.

Sabine hosts Arp and Harmony visits West Rusk on Tuesday.

<strong>DAINGERFIELD 72, HUGHES SPRINGS 29:</strong> DAINGERFIELD - Keaton Key and Denzel Mims combined for 30 points, and the Daingerfield Tigers improved to 11-0 in District 16-2A play (17-7 overall) with a 72-29 win over Hughes Springs.

Key had 16 points and Mims 14 points and 12 rebounds.

Daingerfield will visit Queen City on Tuesday.

<strong>AVINGER 65, SALTILLO 42:</strong> AVINGER - Chiam Loyd and Lake Loyd scored 16 points apiece, and Jeremiaha Clark added a 13-point, 10-rebound double-double for the Indians as Avinger notched a 65-42 win over Saltillo.

Lake Loyd had five three-pointers and Chiam Loyd added four.

Avinger will visit Sulphur Bluff on Tuesday.
