ET Soccer: Longview girls shut out Tyler Lee, more

<strong>LONGVIEW 2, TYLER LEE 0:</strong> TYLER - The Longview Lady Lobos scored twice in the first half, and goalie Jakayla Anthony made it stand with a four-save shutout en route to a 2-0 District 12-5A win over Tyler Lee.

Deja Moore opened the scoring eight minutes into the contest when she tallied off an assist from Lauren Hall.

Hall then got into the scoring act with eight minutes left in the half off an assist from Bianca Jimenez.

The shutout was the first of the year for the Lady Lobos. Rhejanne Durrant, Aide Godoy, Felicia Ellison and Kaitlyn Adams were listed as defensive standouts.

The Lady Lobo JV dropped a 1-0 decision.

Longview will visit Rockwall Heath on Tuesday.

<strong>HALLSVILLE 3, SPRING HILL 2:</strong> Cassie Perry scored twice and assisted on two other goals, lifting the Hallsville Ladycats to a 3-2 win over Spring Hill in District 32-4A action.

Baylee Streetman put Hallsville on the board with a goal off Perry's assist early, and then Perry scored unassisted on a free kick to make it a 2-1 contest at halftime.

Perry tallied again, also unassisted on a free kick, in the second half.

Brooke Vining had 10 saves for Hallsville (9-6-3, 5-2-1).

For Spring Hill, Kristen Martens scored unassisted in the first half and Sofia Hadley had a goal off an assist from Avery Barnhill in the second half. Hannah Jackson had three saves, and Camie Copeland and Abbey Hicks were listed as defensive standouts.

Hallsville will visit Kilgore on Tuesday. Spring Hill (5-2-1) hosts Henderson.

<strong>PINE TREE 3, HENDERSON 1:</strong> Lilly Cabrera scores two within the last five minutes of the first half as the Pine Tree Lady Pirates went on to defeat Henderson 3-1 at Pirate Stadium.

Following a Henderson free-kick goal eight minutes into the second half narrowed the gap, Pine Tree wrapped up the victory with a goal by Ana Solis with eight minutes left to play.

Pine Tree improves to 7-0 in District 32-4A play and to 13-3-1 overall.

Assisting on Pine Tree's goals were Lorena Gonzalez, Victoria Flores and Solis.

The Lady Pirates are off Tuesday and host Kilgore on Friday.

The Pine Tree JV earned a 3-0 victory over Henderson.


<strong>LONGVIEW 3, TYLER LEE 2, OT:</strong> With 45 seconds remaining in the second overtime, Longview's Leo Perez jumped on a through-ball from teammate Alex Rios and scored the winning goal from 13 yards out to give the Lobos a dramatic 3-2 victory over Tyler Lee at Lobo Stadium.

The victory moved Longview to 4-2-2 in District 12-5A play and to 9-4-7 overall. The Lobos are in third place in the district with 15 points. Mesquite Horn is in first with 18 points and Rockwall in second with 16.

After falling behind within two minutes of the kickoff, Longview knotted the score with an unassisted strike from Gustavo Garcia eight minutes into the match.

Longview went ahead 2-1 when Perez scored his first goal of the match off an assist from Santos Portillo. The goal gives Perez 20 for the season, including 11 in district play. The school record for goals in a season is 28 goals by Israel Madrid.

Just before halftime, Lee scored off a free kick to make it 2-2 at the break. Perez' heroics followed a scoreless second half and first overtime period.

Longview outshot Tyler Lee 16-6 for the match.

The Lobos are on the road to face Rockwall-Heath on Tuesday.

The Longview JV beat Tyler Lee 2-0 to improve to 9-2-6 on the season.

<strong>PINE TREE 3, HENDERSON 3:</strong> HENDERSON - The Pine Tree Pirates and Henderson Lions battled to a 3-3 tie, with Pine Tree winning in penalty kicks.

The Pirates (14-3-3) got the deciding goal from Ivan Reyes after two overtimes and a shootout.

Juan Paz scored once and Christian Jordan added two goals in regulation play for the Pirates. Alan Maceda had an assist, and Jared Jimenez finished with four saves.

<strong>HALLSVILLE 6, SPRING HILL 1:</strong> Hallsville jumped out to a 3-0 halftime lead and added three more scores in the second half en route to a 6-1 District 32-4A win over Spring Hill.

Dalton Heinsohn scored twice, and Jamil Young, Martin Garcia, Marco Robles and Gustavo Lilly added goals for Hallsville (15-3-2, 7-1). Heinson, Luis Olivarez, Andrew Southard and Caleb Hagans had assists for Hallsville, which will host Kilgore on Tuesday.

Roberto Ortiz scored an unassisted goal in the loss for Spring Hill (2-6), which will host Henderson on Tuesday.
