East Texas athletes selected for coaches' all-state baseball team

Several East Texans were named to the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association All-State team.

Hallsville senior Connor Reich was a first-team pitcher in Class 4A. He was 11-2 with a 1.77 ERA with 152 strikeouts and 47 walks in 91 innings pitched for the Bobcats, who advanced to the state tournament for the first time in program history.

Hallsville junior pitcher Coby Weaver, who was 11-1 with a 1.67 ERA and 130 strikeouts, was a second-team selection, and junior third baseman Austin Blakeley – a .389 hitter with three home runs and 42 RBI – was named to the third team in Class 4A.

In Class 3A, Gilmer senior Bryce Tomlin was a third-team outfielder. He batted .360 with a home run, four doubles and 15 RBI.

Rusk's Parker Clark was a third-team first baseman in Class 3A, and his teammate Vijay Stingley was a third-team outfielder. Athens' Garrett Conley was a third-team second baseman.

The Hughes Springs duo of pitcher Dylan Moore and catcher Chad McKinney were both first-team selections in Class 2A. Moore was 15-1 with a 1.10 ERA and 138 strikeouts. McKinney was a .478 hitter with a home run, 16 doubles, 26 RBI and 38 runs scored.

Quitman pitcher Jesus Ramirez was named to the third team, Garrison shortstop Cameron Rodriguez and third baseman Kaleb Kirk were both selected to the third team in Class 2A.

Carlisle had three players chosen in Class A. Senior Zach Brightwell was a first-team pitcher. He was 13-2 with a 0.72 ERA and 124 strikeouts. Senior Caleb Colley was a first-team shortstop after hitting .464 with two home runs, 19 RBI, 36 runs scored and 33 stolen bases. Senior Ty Baker, who hit .338 with 22 RBI, 34 runs scored and 15 stolen bases, was a third-team pick at second base.

Also in Class A, Harleton junior Joe Earle was a first-team second baseman after hitting .513 with three triples, 31 runs scored and 18 stolen bases. Harleton senior Taylor Henson was a second-team pitcher. He went 10-1 with a 1.33 ERA and 99 strikeouts. Senior Matt Bullock of Harleton was a third-team pick at third base. He hit .414 with 22 RBI and 11 stolen bases.

State champion Douglass had four first-team selections – pitcher Matt Wallace, catcher Brandon Stanfield, first baseman Bryce Westbrook and third baseman Kolten Rhoudes. Outfielder Grant Holland was a second-team selection. Cushing shortstop Cameron Burk and outfielder Lane Williams were both named to the second team.
