Mahomes named MVP in District 16-4A

Patrick Mahomes added another accolade to his resume after being selected the overall MVP of District 16-4A.

The two-sport Texas Tech signee guided Whitehouse to the 16-4A crown and a trip to the regional quarterfinals.

Jacksonville's Raybon Riden was tabbed Offensive MVP and John Tyler's Rodney Bendy was named the district's Defensive MVP selection. Lindale sophomore Jordan Gray was named Newcomer of the Year.

Whitehouse's Brent Kelley was named Coach of the Year after the Wildcats finished with a 28-7 mark.

The team was selected by the district's coaches.
