An Omaha woman died Monday afternoon when the vehicle she was in collided with a tractor that left the shoulder of a Morris County highway.
Samantha Christine Fuller, 19, was pronounced dead at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview about 90 minutes after the wreck.
Three others were injured in the wreck about 2 p.m. north of Daingerfield, including the operator of the tractor, who sustained life-threatening injuries, the Department of Public Safety said late Monday.
The highway patrol said the wreck occurred as the tractor, being operated by 80-year-old Charles Wade Awtry of Daingerfield, attempted a left turn from the southbound shoulder of U.S. 259 onto CR 4200 about four miles north of Daingerfield.
A southbound sedan driven by Joshua Goins, 18, of Cookville struck the tractor, overturning it and ejecting Autry.
Goins and passenger Jordan Scott Wilhite, 19, of Omaha were both taken to Good Shepherd in Longview with non-incapacitating injuries, the highway patrol reported.
Fuller was pronounced dead about 3:40 p.m. at the Longview hospital.
