ET Football: Longview JV whips North Mesquite, more

LONGVIEW RETAINS PERFECT RECORD: The Longview Lobo junior varsity ran its record to 7-0 with a 40-6 victory over North Mesquite on Thursday at Lobo Stadium.

No less than six Lobos reached the end zone with Jacob Johnson taking a punt back 54 yards as the highlight.

Juarrs Williams scored from two yards out, Keilyn Williams and Jordan Malone both tallied from four yards, Corey Evans from five and Da'Kiemion Mumphrey from a yard.

Harold Jones toed four point-afters and Tainique Taylor picked off two passes.

The Lobos return to play Thursday at Rose Stadium against John Tyler.


LONGVIEW SQUADS BEAT NORTH MESQUITE: MESQUITE — Touchdowns from Tyshawn Taylor and Jayden Williams enabled the Longview Lobo ninth grade "A" squad to remain unbeaten with a 14-7 decision over North Mesquite.

Taylor scored from two yards out and tacked on a 2-point conversion, while Williams crossed from three yards out as the "A" team moved to 6-0 on the season.

In the early contest, Jermal Nelson's 56-yard run sparked the Longview "B" squad in its 28-12 win over North Mesquite.

The "B" team got interceptions from both Jacorey Valentine and Ashton Strange in the winning effort.

Others contributing TDs for the "B" team included Jaharious Jones, Jakambrien Allison and Cameron Wilson. Coy Sanders and Jaylon Ellis tacked on 2-point converts.

Longview's ninth grade teams are back in action Thursday against John Tyler at Lobo Stadium.
