Longview By The Numbers

Staff writer Hayden Henry takes a by-the-numbers look at Longview's 56-7 win at Marshall on Friday night:

49: Friday night marked the biggest points difference in a Lobo win in the 106 meetings between the two teams. Longview won 48-0 in 2012. Marshall won 58-7 in 1952.

4: Forced fumbles on the season for sophomore safety Jephaniah Lister, who caused two fumbles against Marshall with one leading to Jason Bush's 10-yard touchdown. Lister pulled down the Lobos' first interception of the season and is tied with senior linebacker Ja'Quavion Faggans with 18 tackles through two games.

6: Touchbacks on the season for junior kicker Chris Kessler. He's 8-for-8 on point-after attempts, 1-for-1 on field goals (43 yards against Lufkin) and is averaging 37 yards per punt.

638: Rushing yards for the Lobos through two games with an average of seven yards per carry. Senior tailback Kendrevian White has 305 total yards with an average of eight yards per carry and a long of 36. He totaled 101 against Marshall -- all in the first half.

42: First-half points for Longview against Marshall — the most since the Lobos scored 56 against Pine Tree in 2014. Longview scored 42 in the first half against Mesquite and Tyler Lee in 2013.
