Two Boy Scouts with an area troop were killed Saturday when their sail boat hit a power line at Lake O' the Pines, and a third Scout was airlifted to a Shreveport medical center.
Daniel Anderson, area council assistant executive with the Boy Scouts based in Tyler, said the Scouts were with a "Longview-Hallsville" troop, but would not provide more details.
"The entire East Texas Scouting family stands in support of these families" who were affected, he said.
He added that grief counseling is being made available.
"We want to make sure all Scouts know they've got our support," he said.
Harrison County Game Warden Darrin Peeples said he was assisting Marion County game wardens in the investigation, and names of the victims would be released Sunday.
