Xavier Mumphrey, 19, is one of four defendants in the March shooting death of 29-year-old Kendrick Lemichael Jackson.

The court will proceed with its case against Mumphrey in January, according to information released by Upshur County District Attorney Billy Byrd’s office.

Upshur County Sheriff Larry Webb said in March that his deputies responded about 6:24 p.m. o0n March 28 to reports of a shooting. When they arrived, they found Jackson shot to death in his home, he said. Jackson lived in the Lafayette community of Upshur County.
