ET Basketball:Romines, Spring Hill tournaments on tap this week

There's no break on the hardwood this week as both Longview and Spring Hill will host three-day basketball tournaments that will feature teams from throughout the state.

Beginning Wednesday and running through Friday, the Panthers will host the annual Spring Hill Christmas Classic.

On Thursday, action begins in the 2017 Texas Bank & Trust/Longview Regional Leroy Romines Memorial Tournament at Longview High School.


The host Panthers will be joined by Winona, Atlanta, West Rusk, Daingerfield, Marshall, Woodlands Christian, Carthage, Gilmer, Mineola, Pittsburg, Hooks, Tatum and Mount Vernon.

Pool play will be Wednesday with bracket play beginning on Thursday with the semifinals and finals slated for Friday at Panther Gymnasium.


8:30 a.m.: Daingerfield vs. Marshall, Gilmer vs. Mineola

10 a.m.: Atlanta vs. West Rusk, Pittsburg vs. Hooks

11:30 a.m.: Spring Hill vs. Winona, Woodlands Christian vs. Daingerfield

1 p.m.: Mount Vernon vs. Pittsburg, Hooks vs. Tatum

2:30 p.m.: Carthage vs. Gilmer, Winona vs. Atlanta

4 p.m.: Spring Hill vs. West Rusk, Marshall vs. Woodlands Christian

5:30 p.m.: Tatum vs. Mount Vernon, Mineola vs. Carthage


Longview will be joined by Hallsville, Hempstead, Liberty-Eylau, Fort Worth Trimble Tech, Lukfin, Pine Tree, John Tyler, Henderson and Longview's JV.

Pool play will be Thursday and Friday with the quarterfinals, semifinals and finals set for Saturday at Lobo Coliseum and the Green Gym at Longview High School.



11 a.m.: Longview vs. Hallsville

12:30 p.m.: Henderson vs. Lufkin

2 p.m.: Pine Tree vs. John Tyler

3:30 p.m.: Hempstead vs. Hallsville

5 p.m.: Lufkin vs. Pine Tree

6:30 p.m.: Longview vs. Trimble Tech


12:30 p.m.: Liberty-Eylau vs. Hempstead

3:30 p.m.: Trimble Tech vs. Liberty-Eylau

5 p.m.: Longview JV vs. Henderson
