Three people are dead and two others injured after a vehicle hit a wild hog Monday on a rural road near Uvalde.

After hitting the hog, the vehicle swerved into oncoming traffic and hit another car head-on, Texas Department of Public Safety spokesman Sgt. Conrad Hein said Tuesday.

Both drivers, Ruby Garza, 51, and Antonio Cordova, 27 were pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger, Julia Vasquez, 51, later died at an area hospital.

Cordova was a Border Patrol agent and was driving home after finishing a shift at the station in Uvalde.
