Ring in the new year with food, live music

East Texans who want to ring in the new year with good food and live music have plenty of options from which to choose.

Local bars and venues are hosting a variety of options, from local musical acts to formal masquerades, to celebrate the arrival of 2018.

Longview Cattle Barons

Dinner and dancing is on tap for the Longview Cattle Barons' Masquerade, taking place from 7 p.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 31 at the Arabella Manor Events Center, 11361 Texas 300 in East Mountain. The event will serve as the kick-off and reveal party for the upcoming Cattle Barons' Ball in June, Chair Tanya Hickman said.

In addition to dinner, drinks and dancing, organizers have planned a champagne toast at midnight and raffles throughout the event. Attire is formal or semi-formal.

VIP tables seat eight and cost $100. General admission to the masquerade will be $25. Tickets will be available for purchase at the door, or those interested can buy them beforehand by messaging the Longview Cattle Barons' Ball Facebook page.

Pinecrest Country Club

Members and their guests are invited to attend the Pinecrest Country Club's Casino Royale-themed New Year's Eve bash, taking place at the clubhouse, 214 Club Drive in Longview.

The night's activities will include an upscale menu, a champagne toast, casino games, a photo booth, breakfast buffet and music from the Mars Hill Band.

Tickets are $150 per person. The event is not open to the general public, but any Pinecrest Country Club member can bring guests. Members of the public are invited to apply for membership within the club before the New Year's Eve bash.

Back Porch

The Back Porch in Kilgore will host its New Year's Eve Bash beginning at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 31. The featured performer will be Dagnabbit, with events including heavy hors d'oeuvres at 7 p.m., a champagne toast at midnight, and a midnight breakfast of black-eyed peas, cornbread, scrambled eggs, sausage, gravy and biscuits.

Tickets are $30. Attendees must be 21 or older. Attire is dressy casual. Call (903) 984-8141 for more information. The Back Porch is located at 904 Broadway Blvd. in Kilgore.

Lone Star Ice House/Electric Cowboy

Lone Star Ice House's New Year's Eve party will feature a special performance by Teazur at 9 p.m. Over at the Electric Cowboy next door, there will be a regular New Year's Eve party with no special guest.

There's no cover charge for Lone Star Ice House, but there is a $5 cover charge at Electric Cowboy.

Lone Star Ice House/Electric Cowboy is located at 1016 McCann Road in Longview.

OS2 Restaurant and Pub

The OS2 Restaurant and Pub will host a New Year's Eve party with special performer Sammy Brasher Band at 8:30 p.m.

In addition to the restaurant's menu, the party features hors d'ouvres and champagne at midnight. There is a $10 cover charge per person.

Anvil Brewing

Daniel Foster and the Boones will perform at Anvil Brewing's planned New Year's Eve party. The event takes place from 9 p.m. to midnight, with the full menu and special $2 draft beers available. No tickets or reservations required.

Anvil Brewing is located at 115 S. Compress St. in Pittsburg.
