A Gladewater man is in federal custody after police said he and another man sex-trafficked a 13-year-old girl.
Shenandoah West Moneypenny, 34, is charged with using or coercing a minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct to produce "visual depictions" of the conduct.
He and Shawn Dale Sanders, 43, of Dallas were arrested Dec. 18 and will remain jailed until their trials, according to a statement from the U.S. Attorney's Office of the Northern District of Texas
The Dallas-area victim, 13, told officials that she met Moneypenny online, where he went by "Aiden." He then began placing Craigslist advertisements looking for men to "meet" the girl. Moneypenny would put the girl in contact with each man. He received 219 replies to the ad, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
Authorities said the victim had sexual contact with up to four adult men she met this way, including Sanders.
In August, Sanders picked up the girl at her middle school and took her to a park to engage in sex, authorities said.
During this meeting, Sanders took sexually explicit pictures of the girl and sent them to Moneypenny as a trade-off for setting him up with her, authorities said. Sanders and the girl met approximately four times after that and engaged in sexual conduct.
One of the girl's family members contacted a Garland ISD school resource officer in October after finding the online communications on her laptop computer.
A conviction on the charges carries a sentence of between 15 and 30 years in prison and $250,000 fine. It also would require the men to be on parole for the rest of their lives.
