One dead after shooting in Longview; police investigating as homicide

Police were called around 7:30 p.m. to the 1500 block of South 12th Street, where they found a man with a gunshot wound lying in a vacant parking lot, Wednesday, Feb. 15.

A man is dead after a Wednesday night shooting in Longview.

The identity of the victim has not been released.

Police were called around 7:30 p.m. to the 1500 block of South 12th Street, where they found a man with a gunshot wound lying in a vacant parking lot.

The victim was taken to Christus Good Shepherd Medical Center, but later died, police said.

Authorities say the shooting is being investigated as a homicide — the fourth in Longview in two weeks.

Other Longview homicides this year:

Ivory Wilson, 57, was found dead Sunday in her home at the Tree House Apartments on West Avalon Avenue. Wilson had not been seen in several days, and police were called to check her welfare.

Donald Ray Kenney was shot to death Feb. 5 near 12th and Dean streets. Montorio Dewayne Harris, 25, of Longview was arrested in his death.

Thomas Lynn Harper Jr. was shot to death Feb. 4 at J’s Place on East Mar shall Avenue. Kyron Delyn Adams, 38, of Longview was arrested in connec tion with Harper’s death.
