ET Girls Basketball Roundup: Longview falls to Heath, more

HEATH 44, LONGVIEW 37: ROCKWALL — Rockwall-Heath outscored the Longview Lady Lobos 12-7 in the final stanza to earn a 44-37 District 11-6A win on Tuesday night.

Yasmine Bradley had 13 points and Destiny McAffee 10 in the loss for Longview. Deyonna Daniels and Journey Greene finished with five apiece. Kyrra Boone and Chandler Peoples chipped in with two points apiece.

Macy Wilkerson and Alexa Hoy scored 15 points apiece for Heath.

Longview will host Mesquite on Friday.

GREENVILLE 49, MARSHALL 40: MARSHALL — A double-double from Courtnee Shead (16 points, 19 rebounds) wasn't enough for the Lady Mavericks as Marshall dropped a 49-40 decision to Greenville on Tuesday in District 16-5A play.

The Lady Mavs are still in search of their first district win with a 0-5 record.

LaJaccie Tuck was next in line after Shead in scoring with nine points. Kia Williams dropped in seven. Maycee Griffin scored three. Keara Irving and Nia McElhanon each scored one point.

Monica Johnson led Greenville in scoring with 15 points. Amauri Barrett was next in line with 10.

The Lady Mavs will visit Hallsville on Friday.

GILMER 74, SPRING HILL 37: GILMER — Belynda Ray pumped in 23 points, Destiny Brooks added 17 and the Gilmer Lady Buckeyes built a big halftime lead en route to a 74-37 District 15-4A win over Spring Hill.

Ray added eight rebounds, an assist and two steals for Gilmer, which led 25-4 after one quarter and 47-14 at the half. Brooks chipped in with four assists and six steals, Kyla Grant nine points and Gussie Hampton and Meshia Shead seven points apiece. Shead, Kennedi Wilson and Bri Burnsall recorded three steals.

Jayla Landrum scored 14 points in the loss for Spring Hill. Kayla Crowe finished with 10, Karlie White eight, Ashlee Blake three and Kaelyn Elliott two.

Spring Hill will visit Bullard, and Gilmer hosts Gladewater on Friday.

TATUM 73, CARTHAGE 38: TATUM — Bri Mitchell and Jada Shans combined for 48 points, leading the No. 5 ranked Tatum Lady Eagles to a 73-38 win over Carthage in the District 16-4A opener for both teams.

Mitchell finished with 26 points, nine assists, seven steals and three rebounds for Tatum, which led 28-2 after one quarter. Shans had 22 points, five rebounds, five assists and six steals, Destiny Hicks 11 points, seven rebounds, 10 assists and four steals, Ashton Brown four points, 10 rebounds, two assists and a steal and Ashley Johnson five points, six rebounds and two steals.

Tatum (23-0) will visit Rusk on Friday.

ELYSIAN FIELDS 46, WHITE OAK 28: WHITE OAK — Frankazia Boyd paced Elysian Fields with 15 points, Jade Barge added 12 and the Lady Yellowjackets notched a 46-28 District 16-3A win over the White Oak Ladynecks.

Kyla Weeks had six points and Alyia Hall and Sabrina Smith five apiece in the loss for White Oak.

White Oak will visit Ore City, and Elysian Fields hosts Jefferson on Friday.

JEFFERSON 62, WASKOM 37: JEFFERSON — Jayda McCoy tossed in 21 points and collected seven rebounds, leading the Jefferson Lady Bulldogs to a 62-37 District 16-3A win over Waskom.

Jamya Smith added 13 points, five rebounds and eight steals for the Lady Bulldogs, who moved to 6-0 in district play. Ja'Kayla Jones and Elaina Langbartels had seven points apiece, Hannah Welch six, Deivya Hodge four and Ni'Linda Johnson and Tierra Hines two apiece.

Scharda Mims scored 17 points in the loss for Waskom.

Jefferson will visit Elysian Fields on Friday.

HARLETON 55, ORE CITY 35: HARLETON — Katelynn Smith and Mary Echols scored 12 points apiece, leading the Harleton Lady Wildcats to a 55-35 win over Ore City in District 16-3A action.

Smith had eight rebounds, three assists and three steals, and Echols added five steals, four rebounds and two assists. Nicole Wright chipped in with 10 points, eight rebounds, two assists and two steals, Tyler Mobley eight points and three rebounds, Hanna Watson seven points and seven rebounds, Devon Smith six points, three steals and three assists and Claire Underwood two points and three rebounds.

Tiera Cook scored 12 points in the loss for Ore City.

Harleton visits Beckville and Ore City hosts White Oak on Friday.

AVINGER 58, BLOOMBURG 28: AVINGER — Brooke Kirkpatrick scored 14 points to lead a balanced attack, and the Avinger Lady Indians notched a 48-28 District 24-A win over Bloomburg.

Jayden Grant and BriAnna Young scored 13 apiece for Avinger (11-9). Michelle Garrett and Savannah Martin finished with six apiece, Lourdes Perez four and Jaeda Austin two.

Trinity Mouser and Haylee Campbell scored six points apiece in the loss for Bloomburg.

Avinger visits Union Hill on Friday.

UNION GROVE 49, HAWKINS 21: UNION GROVE: Cheyenne Grubbs led the way with 20 points, Summer Grubbs added 11 and the Union Grove Lady Lions rolled to a 49-21 win over Hawkins in District 16-2A play.

Cheyenne Grubbs added seven rebounds, eight steals and a block, and Summer Grubbs chipped in with eight rebounds, three assists, six steals and a block. Shayla Gallagher finished with six points and Kyra Winn five. Winter Wilson had three points, Colby Askew two and Haley Breazeale two. Savanna Chambliss also added five steals.

Raeli Smith scored six points and added three rebounds and a steal for Hawkins. Emily Moore finished with four points, 11 rebounds and two steals, Destiny Chapman three points and five rebounds and Hannah Langford two points, two rebounds and a steal.

Hawkins hosts Overton and Union Grove visits Gary on Friday.

TST 46, ATHENS CHRISTIAN 41: Trinity School of Texas opened TAPPS District 5-1A play by rallying for a 46-41 win over Athens Christian.

The win. TST's fourth in a row, moves the Lady Titans to 6-7 overall.

Chloe Liebengood paced TST with 27 points and 12 rebounds. Abbie Sharp added eight points and seven rebounds, Kelsey Rathbun six points, seven rebounds and four steals, Ella Freeman three points and Grace Williams two points.

Lani Compton scored 24 points in the loss for Athens Christian.

Trinity School will host Longview Christian School at 5 p.m. on Friday.

LCS 43, ST. MARY'S 37: Kamryn Jones scored 14 points, Kenzie Cammack and Hannah Ferrell dominated inside with a combined 24 rebounds and Longview Christian School opened TAPPS District 5-1A play with a 43-37 win over St. Mary's.

Jones added six steals for LCS. Cammack had 11 points and 14 rebounds, Anna Clark eight points, Ferrell four points and 10 rebounds and Danielle Anderson, Emily Thornton and Kate Brown two apiece.

Trinity Scribner scored 12 points for St. Mary's. Josie Soehnge added 10, Megan Fontenot six, April Jones and McKenzie Fontenot four apiece and Gabrielle Aguilar one.

LCS will visit Trinity School on Friday.
