Longview police arrested a 24-year-old man after they said he yelled at several people and threatened one with a knife while at a South Green Street apartment complex.
Gerald Dewayne Templeton was held Tuesday in the Gregg County Jail on $50,000 bond, charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Police said officers were called Monday afternoon to the Courtyard Apartments on South Green Street for reports of a man with a knife who was sitting on a staircase and yelling at several people.
An officer talked to Templeton and asked if he had a knife, and Templeton said he did, the report said. Templeton went into an apartment he had been evicted from and set down the knife, police said.
A woman told police Templeton had pulled out a knife and threatened her, police said.
