Harrison County took custody Monday of a Longview man arrested Friday on a warrant that accuses him of fondling an elementary-age girl multiple times earlier this year.

Thomas William Click, 61, was placed in jail on $150,000 bond in Marshall on a warrant charging him with indecency with a child by sexual contact.

According to the complaint sworn for his arrest warrant, Click is accused of touching a girl “approximately 10 times” from sometime in January to last Wednesday. The complaint said the girl turned 8 years old during the span.

The complaint said a report was filed last Thursday by a party who reported walking into a living room on the previous day, in a Longview home that’s inside Harrison County, and seeing Click and the girl sitting partially under a blanket on a couch.

“Thomas had the waistband of his pants pulled away from his body, as if he was waiting for (the girl) to place her hand in side,” according to the sworn statement by Longview Police Detective Audrey Wright.

The reporting party asked the girl about the situation the next day, and the child said Click had been touching her inside her underwear.

That prompted an interview Friday at the Martin House Child Advocacy Center, where the girl said more about what “Tom” had done lifted her top and placed his hands under her short pants and underwear.

“(The girl) stated this happened approximately ten (10) times,” the complaint reads.

Click could face up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000 if convicted of the third-degree felony

A local magistrate says he set bond at $150,000 for a 62-year-old Longview man accused of fondling a young girl.

Thomas William Click was arrested by Longview police on Friday afternoon, after Harrison County authorities issued a warrant charging Click with indecency with a child-sexual contact.

Gregg County Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace Tim Bryan said information accompanying the warrant accused Click of fondling a child.

Click remained in the Gregg County Jail on Sunday, awaiting transport to the Harrison County Jail in Marshall.
