15-4A Basketball: Spring Hill's Zeilinger takes MVP honors

Spring Hill sharpshooter Blake Zeilinger was tabbed District 15-4A MVP as voted on by league coaches.

Zeilinger was a key cog in the Panther playoff push this season. Kilgore's De'Ontre Wheat was selected Newcomer of the Year, while Gilmer's Qua Heath took top defensive player.

Chapel Hill's Devin Taylor was voted best offensive performer, while Chapel Hill's Robert Sampson and Gilmer's Keith shared Coach of the Year.

Here is a rundown on the first and second teams:

First Team

Bullard: Evan Hodges; Gladewater: Austin Hawley, Cameron Calloway; Chapel Hill: Blake Harris; Gilmer: Red Jones, Dimitri Fort; Spring Hill: Tyler Caron, Kyren Miller

Second Team

Bullard: Will McCowin; Gladewater: Michael Sanchez; Chapel Hill: Caleb Hampton, Colt Carroll; Kilgore: AJ Henson, Seth Thomas, Octavion McKee; Gilmer: Eddie Rey, Schylur Noble; Spring Hill: Landon Elliott

Academic All District
