A Kilgore man was held in jail Monday on bonds totaling $20,000 on domestic violence and resisting arrest charges after police said he terrorized his roommate on Sunday.
Daniel Aaron Nutt, 32, surrendered to police at the Lakewood Manor Apartments at about 5:15 p.m. Sunday, the department reported Monday on its Facebook page.
The arrest ended a brief standoff during which Nutt at first refused to exit the Danville Drive apartment unit. His roommate, whose name was not released Monday, climbed out of an apartment window before police arrived.
That man told officers Nutt had threatened to kill him and approached him in a threatening manner. He also told police the apartment contained numerous handguns and long guns.
The department issued a shelter in place advisory for residents at the complex, particularly its western residences. Several people were evacuated at that end of the complex, the department reported on Facebook.
A final update reported Nutt’s arrest and that residents were returning to their apartments.
Nutt was taken immediately to the Kilgore Municipal Jail but had been transferred to the Gregg County Jail by Monday morning.
