More Ways to Thank Mom
May 9, 2017 at midnight
Mother’s Day is upon us again, and it’s already May so you’re probably scrambling for a gift. How in the world are you going to show your mom that’s she’s the most splendid mother around? To pick the right gift, you first have to decide what kind of mom you have. Actually, it's quite easy to do -- but it's important because by doing so you'll ensure your mom's Mother’s Day is the best it can be. Here are the categories:
1. The Pamper Mom.
The Pamper Mom is always looking for the most relaxing activity possible. She loves a good massage, a soothing facial, or to lounge by the pool. Local spas and hotels will often have specials available around Mother’s Day where you can select a package of peaceful retreats. Pick the one that will give your mom a full day of pampered respite.
2. The Chef Mom.
Is your mother known for being a whiz in the kitchen? She probably bears the brunt of the cooking responsibilities, so what would be better than to treat her to an extravagant meal where she doesn’t have to lift a finger other than to eat? The possibilities are endless: a special meal at a high-end restaurant; cook at home where she can witness your following that difficult recipe just for her; organize a fun picnic for an early evening dinner at your local park. Any of these options will give your Chef Mom a well-deserved break.
3. The Homebody Mom.
Sometimes the Homebody Mom just needs to take it easy. Offer her a free day, a full 24 hours where nothing is needed from her. She can rest easy, read a book, watch her favorite movies, and do anything else her heart desires. It’s an easy one, but sometimes the Homebody Mom needs some space.
4. The Jetsetter Mom.
If you’re feeling particularly bold (or if you’ve been a difficult offspring this year), offer Jetsetter Mom a weekend away! Cruises, resorts, and airlines offer all kinds of amazing deals around May so you can book a fun jaunt for your mother to go on an adventure. She has done plenty for you over the years; now is the time to let her do some exploring for herself.
Lastly, sometimes it’s nice to offer the Gift of Time. This can go both ways. One, you can offer your mother some time alone. A little space to get out of her hair and let her just be her. Or two: you can offer companionship on a little adventure for the two of you. If you haven’t been home lately, your mom is probably dying just to spend some time with you. Plan that mani/pedi or fancy dinner, but include yourself for the day.
Massage Envy of Longview is your local resource for all the pampering and special treatment that Mom deserves this Mother’s Day. From now until May 14, when you spend $125 on gift cards you will receive a free 60 minute facial or a 30 minute upgrade on a massage. Treat Mom to a day of pampering and pamper yourself too. Moms should be celebrated every day of the year for everything that they give and do for us, but especially on Mother’s Day. Make sure your Mom knows just how special she is to you this Mother’s Day and let Massage Envy make that task a little easier for you to accomplish.
