Longview police arrested two men this weekend on charges of racing on a highway.

Blake Thomas Warren, 20, no address given, and 25-year-old Aaron Joseph Dangel, of Longview, were booked into the Gregg County Jail at about 3:30 a.m. Sunday. Warren also faces an additional charge of possessing a dangerous drug.

Both men were released from jail on surety bonds Sunday morning, according to the Gregg County Sheriff's Office.

No other information about the arrests was released Sunday.

Police said about a month ago that they've cracking down on racing on a highway, which is a class B misdemeanor.

"Police are focusing on traffic enforcement like they always do and they have identified this as a little more (racing) than they have seen in the past, and we are continuing to work on it," Sgt. Shane McCarter said in October.
