Police: Dog in Longview shot with arrow

Longview Animal Services and Longview Police are currently investigating a case of animal cruelty. Police are looking for information after a dog was shot with an arrow that punctured its lungs in Longview.

Officers responded at about 1:30 p.m. Thursday to near Rawley Court and Glover Drive where they found they found the Labrador mix that was still alive, police said.

The dog was taken to the Longview Animal Care and Adoption Center where he had emergency surgery to remove the 20-inch arrow.

Shelter medical staff learned while treating the dog that he had been shot multiple times with a pellet gun and still had pellets inside his body.
