Letters about revived faith in humanity, prayer for president

Sept. 12, 2017 at 11:41 p.m.

Revived faith

I did a stupid thing and my wallet fell out on Loop 281 between Fourth Street and Airline Road. Before I could go back to get it, the wallet was run over and a substantial amount of cash went into the street.

Several cars stopped and occupants scrambled to grab the loose cash.

However, one very honest and nice person, Kim Reese, stopped, got my wallet with ID and some cash and some of the credit cards. She pulled over by Texas Roadhouse and when I pulled in she asked me my name, which I gave her. She said I have your wallet and ID, some of your money and credit cards. I thanked her and offered her a reward, which she refused.

She said she tried to stop others from making off with the loose bills but they would not stop. She also went back out in traffic with me to retrieve any other contents still in the street.

It revives my faith in humanity to see there are still people such as Kim Reese in this world. Thanks, Kim. You are very kind and no doubt a pleasure to everyone you meet.

A prayer for president

Father God, in Jesus' name, I plead the precious blood of Jesus over President Donald Trump, his family, staff and cabinet members and everything that pertains to them for the best protection there is: Yours!

No weapon formed against them shall prosper and nothing shall by any means harm them. A thousand shall fall at their side and 10,000 at their right hand, but it shall not come nigh them.

President Trump has many enemies, seen and unseen, but your word says you take care of your anointed ones, and Donald Trump is the man you anointed and chose to be president for this time.

Psalm 21:11 and 12 say, "For they intended evil against You; they devised a plot which they are not able to perform. Therefore You will make them turn their back; You will make ready Your arrows on your string toward their faces."

President Trump's enemies are your enemies, Father God. Your word says you hold them in derision and laugh at them. I believe and receive your protection for him, his family, staff and cabinet members, provided by the precious blood of Jesus Christ, your son. Amen.
