A Baytown man has been arrested in the 2006 homicide of a man in Rusk County, the Rusk County Sheriff's Office reported Friday.
Jarrett Murray, age unknown, is accused in the death of Joseph Michael Douglas, whose body was found May 2, 2006, on CR 106 in rural Rusk County.
Murray had not been booked into the Rusk County Jail as of Friday evening.
The case was adopted into the Texas Rangers Unsolved Crime Investigation Program this year, which is a program implemented by the Legislature to re-examine and investigate unsolved murders.
Those efforts led to the discovery of new evidence and leads, the sheriff's office said.
Those findings ultimately culminated in Thursday's arrest of Murray.
