LONGVIEW 3, TYLER LEE 0: Jesus Galvan recorded a hat trick as Longview moved to 2-0 in District 11-6A action with a 3-0 win over Tyler Lee on Friday night.
After a scoreless first half, Galvan took an assist from Blaine Wright seven minutes into the second half to put Longview ahead, 1-0. Three minutes later, Jovanni Ontiveros connected with Galvan behind the Lee defense for a 2-0 Longview lead.
With 16 minutes left, Rudy Gutierrez hit a back-post shot and Galvan connected on his third goal of the night and 11th of the season for Longview, who moves to 10-1-2.
Sophomore keeper Raul Torres worked his ninth shutout of the year for Longview, who had a 9-2 shots on goal advantage in the second half.
Longview's JV won 2-0 and the JV B team worked a 0-0 tie.
Longview visits Rockwall on Tuesday.
PINE TREE 3, SULPHUR SPRINGS 0: Tony Molina assisted on one goal and scored another, and the Pine Tree Pirates notched a 3-0 victory over Sulphur Springs in District 16-5A play.
Molina scored the first goal, and then assisted on a score by Tito Gimenez to put the Pirates on top 2-0.
Andres Beserra later made it 3-0 with a goal off an assist from Luke Yoder.
WASKOM 4, GLADEWATER 2: GLADEWATER — Juan Castillo assisted on the Wildcats' first goal and scored the next two as Waskom evened its district record with a 4-2 win over Gladewater.
Ivan Sanchez scored off a dish from Castillo in the first half, and after Gladewater tied things at the break, Castillo scored off an assist from Hugo Tapia and knocked in an unassisted goal. Chino Segura later scored off an assist from Max Sepulavado to finalize the scoring for the Wildcats.
Adolfo Sanchez worked in goal for Waskom. Josh Reeves and Jay Reeves were listed as other standouts.
Waskom (6-1, 1-1) will visit Henderson on Tuesday.
TYLER LEE 4, LONGVIEW 1: TYLER — Tyler Lee scored all four of its goals before the half to build a big lead and earn a 4-1 win over the Longview Lady Lobos in District 11-6A action on Friday.
Celeste Nunez scored the lone goal for Longview (6-3-1, 0-2) off an assist from Caroline Henderson.
The Longview JV earned a 3-1 win to improve to 11-0 overall and 2-0 in league play.
Longview hosts Rockwall on Tuesday.
SULPHUR SPRINGS 1, PINE TREE 0: Sulphur Springs broke a scoreless deadlock with a second-half score, holding on for a 1-0 win over the Pine Tree Lady Pirates in the District 16-5A opener on Friday.
"Our defensive line worked fantastically tonight, but we just couldn't put the ball in the net," Lady Pirate coach Chris Yoder said.
The Sulphur Springs JV notched a 4-0 win.
Pine Tree (3-8) will visit Mount Pleasant on Tuesday.
