Waylaid by budget talks, O'Rourke postpones visit to Longview

A campaign breakfast this morning in Longview with U.S. Rep. Beto O'Rourke has been canceled as the lawmaker remained in Washington, D.C., for negotiations on a federal budget.
O'Rourke, an El Paso Democrat, had planned to bring his challenge to Republican U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz to a meet-and-greet breakfast at the Longview Transportation Center before appearances in Jacksonville, Nacogdoches and Lufkin.
As of 6:30 p.m. Thursday, the Lufkin stop remained possible, but the rest are canceled.
O'Rourke's campaign said the canceled stops will be rescheduled, including one that had been Thursday in Marshall.
