ET Boys Basketball Roundup: Longview falls to North Mesquite on the road, more

NORTH MESQUITE 64, LONGVIEW 49: MESQUITE — Jerry Carraway sank four of his team's 10 3-pointers en route to an 18-point game, leading the North Mesquite Stallions to a 64-49 win over the Longview Lobos in District 11-6A play.

Jamarzea Arvie added 11 points and Trey Moore 10 for North Mesquite, which held a slim 25-23 lead at halftime before outscoring the Lobos 39-26 in the second half.

Jason Bush scored 29 points in the loss for Longview. Phil Washington added nine, Jaylin Brown seven and Malik Henry and Jerrian Lewis two apiece.

Longview (15-4, 1-1) will host John Tyler on Friday.

SPRING HILL 79, ALTO 50: ALTO — Tyler Caron led the way with 24 points, Kyren Miller was close behind with 20 and the Spring Hill Panthers coasted to a 79-50 win over Alto in non-district play on Tuesday.

Casey Mudoh added 13 points and Exavier Hinton chipped in with eight for Spring Hill, which led 27-14 after one quarter and 46-22 at halftime.

Spring Hill (12-10) will host Big Sandy on Friday.

HALLSVILLE 99, GREENVILLE 33: HALLSVILLE — Jeremy Swalley scored 27 points, Shadd Berg added 26 and the Hallsville Bobcats (13-11) pulled even at 1-1 in District 16-5A play with a 99-33 win over Greenville.

Rowdy Smith joined Swalley and Berg in double figures with 15 points. Jai Lacario added six, Kobe Hogan five, Derrion Harris, Danny Marr and Cameron Bullock four apiece and Brenton Allen and Ty Huff two apiece.

Hallsville led 24-10 after one quarter and 43-14 at halftime.

The Bobcats are idle on Friday and will visit Pine Tree next Tuesday.

GLADEWATER 50, UNION GROVE 45: GLADEWATER — Isaiah Davis scored 10 points to lead Gladewater past Union Grove, 50-45, in non-district action.

Cade Judd had 23 points, three rebounds, two assists and three steals in the loss for Union Grove. Dalton Borden finished with eight points and seven rebounds, Buzzy Caviness four points, Kyle Turner and Carson Daniels three apiece and Blain Burge and Mikie Webb two each.

TATUM 66, PLEASANT GROVE 64: TATUM — Tatum built a 10-point lead after one quarter and held on for a 66-64 win over Pleasant Grove in non-district action on Tuesday.

Jacob Davis led a balanced scoring attack for Tatum with 14 points. OB Jones added 12, C.J. Vandre 11, Tyler Wallace nine, JaKobbe Mitchell eight, Drake Smith seven, Jimmie Jakubowski three and Jamuarie Wilson two.

Tatum, which led 28-18 after one quarter, also got four assists from Mitchell, six rebounds and three steals from Jones, six rebounds and four steals from Vandre and seven rebounds from Jakubowski.

Tatum (13-11) will face Palestine at 2:30 p.m. on Friday at American Airlines Center in Dallas.

JEFFERSON 58, WHITE OAK 50: JEFFERSON — Dee Mitchell paced Jefferson with 20 points, and the Bulldogs held on for a 58-50 win over White Oak in District 16-3A action.

Cameron Bates scored 13 points and added five rebounds in the loss for White Oak (9-10, 1-1). Chandler Benson finished with 11 points, Seth Garcie nine and Stone Palmer four points and nine rebounds.

White Oak hosts Waskom and Jefferson visits New Diana on Friday.

NEW DIANA 55, ORE CITY 47: ORE CITY — Brayden Rosales scored 21 points to lead the New Diana Eagles to a 55-47 win over Ore City in District 16-3A action.

KeyShawn Kyle had 15 points and David Andrews nine in the loss for Ore City.

SABINE 74, TST 37: LIBERTY CITY — Will Shawn filled the stat sheet with 16 points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals, and Sabine blew things open after a deadlocked first quarter to earn a 74-37 win over Trinity School of Texas.

Travion Oliver and Jackson Lutz scored 12 points apiece for Sabine (15-4), and Eylan Goodwyn added 10 points, eight rebounds, five assists and two steals. Scottie Taylor finished with eight points, T Taylor six points, four assists and three steals, Nathan Willis five points, Hunter Grotemat three points and Glenn George two points,

Caleb Liebengood had 17 points and 14 rebounds, and Caed Liebengood finished with 12 points and eight rebounds in the loss for Trinity School (9-3).

The game was knotted at 18-18 after one, and Sabine outscored the Titans 35-9 over the next two frames to take control.

Sabine will visit Troup on Friday.

WEST RUSK 54, HARMONY 51: HARMONY — Dylan Walker scored 15 points, Talon Winings and Koure Johnson added 12 apiece and the West Rusk Raiders improved to 2-0 in District 15-3A play with a 54-51 win over Harmony.

Spencer Seahorn had 17 points, Easton Blackstone 12 and Cameron Helpenstill six in the loss for Harmony (5-11, 0-2).

Harmony will visit Arp on Friday.

BROOK HILL 61, BIG SANDY 56: BIG SANDY — Jared Johnson dropped in 25 points for Brook Hill in a 61-56 non-district win over Big Sandy.

Josh Shipman had 19 points and seven rebounds for Big Sandy (11-4), which trailed by just a bucket (17-15) after one quarter before being outscored 21-11 in the second frame. Jordan Oswalt added 11 for the Wildcats.

Big Sandy will visit Spring Hill on Friday.

HAWKINS 68, UNION HILL 34: BETTIE — Camron Taylor scored 25 points, Everin Gipson (15) and Tristian Garrett (13) joined him in double figures and Hawkins rolled to a 68-34 win over Union Hill on Tuesday.

Jayden Dacus added eight points and Collin Barber seven for Hawkins, which led 15-2 after one quarter and 30-9 at halftime.

The Hawks will host Tyler HEAT on Friday.

TROUP 61 CUMBERLAND 53: TYLER — Jared Jackson scored 33 points, Shane Thomas dropped in 18 and the Troup Tigers moved to 20-2 overall and 2-0 in District 15-3A play with a 61-53 win over Cumberland Academy.

Jones Ard had six points, Weslee Ross five, Kris Johnson three and Grayson Driggs two for Troup.

Caleb Watts had 15 and Nate Navarro 13 in the loss for Cumberland Academy.

Troup will host Sabine on Friday.
