A 46-year-old Hallsville woman was arrested Thursday on multiple charges of forgery stemming from an investigation into counterfeit money and checks, law enforcement officials said.

Jennifer Genell Clark was being held Friday on $50,000 in bonds in the Harrison County Jail on two Gregg County charges of forgery of a government/national instrument, money or security; one Harrison County charge of forgery of a government/national instrument, money or security; and a charge of possession of 4 grams to 200 grams of a controlled substance.

The investigation was a joint effort by the Hallsville Police Department, Harrison County Sheriff’s Office, Kilgore Police Department and U.S. Secret Service.

The agencies teamed executed a search warrant Thursday at the Green Street Apartments at 302 S. Green St. in Hallsville, where they seized laptops, printers, printed counterfeit U.S. currency, counterfeit checks, fictitious identification, stolen mail and identity documents, and other items consistent with an ongoing counterfeit operation, officers said. Officers also seized methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Police said additional charges could be pending as the investigation continues.
