MARSHALL — Santa will be making an early visit this Saturday as the Marshall Depot Museum board hosts its inaugural “Christmas in July” market, featuring vendors and kids’ activities.
Cathy Wright, museum board member, said the event from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. is a fundraiser leading up to the 20th anniversary of the museum in November.
“This Saturday, everything is going to be decorated Christmas,” Wright said.
Vendors offering wares from clothing to furniture will be set up on the depot grounds, 800 N. Washington Ave., Marshall.
“People can kind of get a jump either on their Christmas decorations or their Christmas shopping,” Wright said. “We’re hoping to do it every year.”
Santa will be on the scene visiting with children and handing out frozen pops.
“And we’re going to have face paintings,” Wright said.
Cold drinks and snow cones will be available, along with information on the museum and depot.
Wright said vendor space still is available. To participate, call or text (903) 806-0833.
