A Tyler man was convicted and sentenced Wednesday to 16 years in prison for stealing a lawnmower and pawning it.

Larry Lamont Warren, 41, went into the victim’s back yard on Oct. 17, 2018, took a lawnmower from a storage shed and pawned it, according to a written statement from the Smith County District Attorney’s Office.

The DA’s office said the victim’s mother saw Warren take the mower from the shed.

Prosecutors presented evidence to the jury showing Warren had previous first-degree felony drug convictions and was on parole when the burglary occurred, the DA’s office said.
