A public input meeting on how Lake O’ the Pines shores are designated has been reset for Wednesday in Longview after a May 8 storm forced a cancellation.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, which built and oversees the reservoir, is revising its Shoreline Master Plan this year and hopes to have a draft revision ready for public review in August, an official said at a meeting May 9 in Jefferson.

The Shoreline Management Plan determines which stretches of shoreline are set aside for recreation, private docks, other development, environmental preservation, prohibited access and other uses. The plan was last updated in 1978, and Corps officials say changes in land use and policies call for an update.

The Longview meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Eitelman Room at Maude Cobb Convention and Activity Center, 100 Grand Blvd., Longview.
