The Friends of Marshall Animals shoe fundraiser has been extended through Friday.

The nonprofit organization is hosting the shoe drive to raise money for the Marshall Animal Shelter, which as of Tuesday had a sign on its closed door stating it could not take in any more animals because it was filled to capacity.

The goal is to collect 2,500 pairs of shoes, which will then be sold to Funds2Orgs to redistribute to help entrepreneurs in developing countries create and grow small businesses.

Funds2Orgs will issue a check to Friends of Marshall Animals based on the total weight of the pairs of gently used and new shoes collected.

Collection centers are located at The General Store (Addictions), 216 N. Washington Ave. in Marshall, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; The Willow Salon and Color Bar, 1407 E. Houston St. in Marshall, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Marshall Animal Shelter, at 607 E. End Blvd. S. in Marshall.
