With area schools closing for summer, some children might not have access to daily, nutritious meals.

The Texas Department of Agriculture helps school districts and other organizations provide free meals during parts of the summer for children younger than 18.

Around East Texas, schools and local organizations are hosting summer feeding programs:

Gregg County

Longview ISD will serve breakfast 8 to 8:30 a.m. and lunch noon to 12:30 (Monday through Friday) at various locations.

Longview High School will be open June 3 to Aug. 16; Ware Elementary School, June 3 to Aug. 9; East Texas Montessori Prep Academy, June 10 to July 26; J.L. Everhart Elementary School, June 10 to 28; Forest Park Middle School, June 10 to July 26; and Bramlette Elementary School, June 10 to July 26.

Pine Tree ISD will serve lunch and breakfast at multiple locations.

The primary school will serve breakfast 7:30 to 8 a.m. and lunch 11 a.m. to noon, June 4 to 7 and June 10 to Aug. 3 (Monday through Friday); it will be closed July 1 to 5.

Parkway Elementary will serve breakfast 8:30 to 9 a.m. and lunch 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. June 10 to 14 and June 17 to 27 (Monday through Thursday).

Pine Tree Middle School will serve breakfast 8:30 to 9 a.m. and lunch 12:30 to 1 p.m. June 4 to 27 (Monday through Thursday).

Pine Tree High school will serve breakfast 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. and lunch 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. June 5 and 6 and June 10 to 27 (Monday through Thursday), July 8 to 12 (Monday, Thursday and Friday) and July 15 to 18 (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday) and July 24 and 25.

Gladewater ISD will serve breakfast 7:15 to 8 a.m. and lunch 11 a.m. to noon May 28 to June 27 at Gladewater Middle School.

Kilgore ISD will have four serving locations.

Kilgore Middle School cafeteria will serve breakfast 7:15 to 8:15 June 10 to July 11 (Monday through Thursday), and lunch 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Chandler Elementary will serve breakfast 7:30 to 8 a.m. and lunch 12:30 to 1 p.m. June 10 to 20 (Monday through Thursday.)

Kilgore Primary School will serve breakfast 7:15 to 8 a.m. and lunch 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 3 to July 11 (Monday through Thursday).

Kilgore Intermediate School will serve breakfast 7:30 to 8 a.m. and lunch 12:20 to 1 p.m. (Monday through Thursday), July 8 to 11.

Sabine Middle School will serve lunch and an afternoon snack June 1 to 30 (Monday through Thursday). Lunch will be 11 a.m. to noon, and snacks will be served 1 to 1:30 p.m..

Upshur County

Gilmer ISD will provide meals at six locations.

Gilmer Elementary Cafeteria will serve breakfast 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. and lunch 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. June 10 to July 19.

The Gilmer Intermediate School cafeteria will serve breakfast 7:45 to 8:15 a.m. and lunch 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. June 10 to 26 (Monday through Thursday).

The Yamboree Park will have breakfast 8-8:30 a.m. and lunch 11:45 a.m.-12:15 p.m. June 17-July 19, but will be closed July 4 and 5.

Gilmer Methodist Church will serve breakfast 8 to 8:30 a.m. and lunch 12 to 12:30 p.m. June 10-14.

Bethlehem Baptist Church in Gilmer will serve dinner 6:30 to 7 p.m. June 4 to 6.

Gilmer’s First Baptist Church will serve lunch 12:30 to 12:50 p.m. July 3 to 19, but will be closed June 13 and 18 and July 4, 12 and 18.

Ore City ISD will serve lunch at two locations.

Ore City Park will serve 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. May 28 to June 28 (Monday through Friday.)

The Shady Shores Volunteer Fire Department will serve lunch 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. May 28 to June 28 (Monday through Friday).

Rusk County

Tatum ISD will serve breakfast 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. and lunch 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 3 to July 3 at the Tatum Middle School cafeteria.

Henderson High School will serve breakfast 7 to 7:30 a.m. and lunch 11 to 11:30 a.m. June 3 to 27 (Monday through Thursday).

Henderson Middle School will serve breakfast 7:15 to 8 a.m. and lunch 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. June 3 to July 25 (Monday through Thursday).

Fair Park will serve lunch 11:15 a.m. to noon June 3 to July 3 (Monday through Thursday).

The Boys and Girls Club of Rusk County will serve breakfast 8 to 8:30 a.m. and lunch 11:30 a.m. to noon June 3 to Aug. 2 (Monday through Friday).

Laneville ISD will serve breakfast 7:30 to 8 a.m. and a snack 10:30 to 11 a.m. June 3 to 27 (Monday through Thursday).

The Overton ISD cafeteria will serve lunch 10 to 11:30 a.m. May 30 to June 28 (Monday through Friday).

Morris County

Daingerfield-Lone Star ISD will serve breakfast at 7:45 to 8:15 a.m. and lunch 11 a.m. to noon June 3 to July 12 (Monday through Thursday) at the South Elementary campus.

The West Elementary campus will serve breakfast 7:45 to 8:15 a.m. and lunch 11 a.m. to noon June 3 to 27 (Monday through Thursday).

Daingerfield and Lone Star City Parks will serve lunch 11 to 11:30 a.m. June 3 to 27 (Monday through Thursday).

Pewitt High School will serve breakfast and lunch Monday to Thursday in June. Breakfast will be served 8 to 8:30 a.m., and lunch will be served 11 to 11:30 a.m.

East Texas Food Bank

The East Texas Food Bank also has sites around the area for anyone 18 and younger to eat breakfast, lunch or both at some locations.

In Gregg County, the Boys and Girls Club of Kilgore will serve breakfast 8 to 9 a.m. and lunch noon to 1 p.m. June 3 to Aug. 2 (Monday through Friday).

In Harrison County, the Boys and Girls Club of Big Pines in Marshall will serve breakfast 7:45 to 8:15 a.m. and lunch noon to 1 p.m. June 10 to Aug. 2 (Monday through Friday).

The WIC Clinic in Marshall will serve lunch 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 3 to Aug. 16 (Monday through Friday).

The Waskom Elementary Boys and Girls Club will serve breakfast 7:15 to 8 a.m. and lunch noon to 1 p.m June 3 through Aug. 2 (Monday through Friday).

In Rusk County, the Henderson WIC Clinic will serve lunch 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 3 to Aug. 16 (Monday to Friday).

In Panola County, Libby Elementary will serve lunch 11 a.m. to noon June 3 to 27 (Monday through Thursday).
