Police arrested a Longview man Saturday on charges of endangering an infant and assaulting the child’s mother, according to a report.
Jeremy Paul McBride, 27, of Longview remained in custody Monday on $12,500 in bonds in Gregg County Jail on one count of abandon, endanger child, criminal negligence, and assault causes bodily injury family violence, jail records show.
Police arrested McBride after responding at 2:18 p.m. Saturday on a family violence call to a fast-food restaurant in the 200 block of East Loop 281, the report said.
Upon arrival, a woman told police McBride pushed her and hit her in the back of the neck while she held an infant, the report said. She then tried to shield the child, but McBride “recklessly” placed the child in imminent danger.
McBride had fled the scene, but police found and arrested him.
