Crews on Wednesday afternoon responded to a fire at Trinity Industries’ rail plant that produced smoke visible from Longview.
Harrison County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Jay Webb said the call for the fire came in at about 5:30 and that it was contained shortly before 7 p.m. No injuries were reported in the blaze.
Webb said there were reports of an explosion before the fire but that officials don’t yet know if that was the cause.
A photographer at the scene saw flames coming from a part of the building at the plant shortly after 5:30 p.m.
He said crews from Hallsville Fire Department and West Harrison Volunteer Fire Department were at the scene.
A dispatcher at Hallsville Fire Department said the fire was in the paint shop.
Webb said there was no danger to people who live in the area and that “everyone working in the shop is accounted for.”
