A former Sabine ISD employee has been charged with improper relationship between educator and student.

Cassie Wyn Dowden, 27, of Diana was released Thursday from Gregg County Jail on a $5,000 bond with conditions on a warrant from Justice of the Peace Pct. 1, jail records show. Gregg County Sheriff’s deputies arrested her at 2:40 p.m. Wednesday in the 500 block of Beckley Street in Kilgore.

Jail records listed an offense date of March 1.

Sabine ISD superintendent Stacey Bryce said Dowden resigned in late May, before he knew about the investigation. She was a teacher’s aide on the elementary campus.

The 2018-19 school year was Dowden’s second year working at Sabine ISD, according to Bryce.
