Law enforcement Tuesday captured a Longview man police say led officers on a pursuit from Gladewater to Harrison County.
The suspect, 37-year-old Christopher Michael Williams, was taken into custody and booked into the Harrison County Jail on a charge of evading arrest with a vehicle.
The Harrison County Sheriff’s Office was notified Tuesday night that Gladewater police were pursuing a vehicle that was last seen headed south on Loop 281 in Longview, according to sheriff’s office Chief Deputy Brandon Fletcher.
A short time later, a Harrison County unit saw a vehicle that matched the description driving south on the loop “at a high rate of speed” and then run a red light, Fletcher said.
The deputy tried to pull over the vehicle, which headed east on FM 968. After about a 10-minute chase, Fletcher said, a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper set out spikes at FM 968 and FM 3251. The spikes stopped the vehicle, and Williams was arrested.
