Police are investigating the shooting of a juvenile who was taken by private vehicle to Christus Good Shepherd Medical Center-Longview on Wednesday evening after being wounded in the arm, the Longview Police Department posted Thursday on Facebook.

Police responded Wednesday to a report of a gunshot being heard in the 1600 block of Mobberly Avenue and were sent later to the hospital because the youth had been taken there for injuries that were not life-threatening. The youth was released from the hospital at 7 p.m., less than two hours after the call came to the police department, Capt. Ben Kemper said.

Detectives determined the youth was shot at the Mobberly Avenue location and ask anyone who has any information regarding the incident to call Detective Terry Davis at (903) 237-1110.
