Longview police arrested a 20-year-old Overton woman Thursday on two charges of trying to take a weapon from an officer, along with other offenses, according to a report.
Kaleigh Brian was held Friday on $31,000 in bonds in Gregg County Jail on two counts of attempting to take a weapon from an officer, one charge of assault on a peace officer/judge and one charge of resisting arrest, search or transport, jail records show.
Police arrested Brian after responding to a call at Community HealthCore at 1300 N. Sixth St. in Longview, claiming Brian was assaulting a case manager and trying to take the weapon from a security guard, the report said.
Brian approached the police officer and cut him with her fingernails as she reached for and tried to grab his weapon, the report said. When the officer tried to place her under arrest, she resisted and continued to scratch him on his right hand with her fingernails, the report said.
