Police are investigating after shots were fired in a parking lot at Wiley College and a bullet went through a dorm-room window.

No one was injured in the shooting, which police said happened at about 12:15 a.m. Monday in the parking lot of Strickland Hall near the intersection of University Avenue and Wiley Avenue in Marshall.

Police said a vehicle drove into the parking lot and possibly exchanged gunfire with someone. The vehicle crashed into a retaining wall but left the scene before officers arrived.

The vehicle is described as a black sedan with extensive front-end damage. Police believe two people were in the vehicle.

During an investigation, police determined one of the bullets from the incident had gone through the window of a nearby dorm room. Three people were inside at the time, but police said no one was injured.
