Law won’t stop ‘porch pirates’
In regard to the editorial about “porch pirates” (Other Voices, June 28):
How can we expect stronger penalties to deter these thieves when even life in prison does not deter murders?
The post office should instruct through the newspaper, the postal employees, as well as others, that rather than leaving packages on porches to return the packages to the post office and leave a notice in the mailbox for the package recipients that they have a package awaiting them at the post office.
They used to do this, for I have received such a notice myself.
